This website is designed to give you an idea of what Wheatley Pre-School is all about and it will hopefully answer any questions you may have, and make a difficult decision a little easier. We have tried to keep this information brief, but our best suggestion is to come and visit us, see us in action and in conjunction with this website, we can answer any additional questions you may have.

No-one knows your child better than you, so while your choice of pre school environment may be influenced by certain practical factors ( such as the number of sessions required, hours of sessions etc.). Above all we hope that you will find Wheatley Pre-School to be a friendly place in which to leave your child.

Our main aims are to provide a fun, happy, safe and stimulating environment in which children can develop in self-confidence and esteem, independence and self-control. We believe that children learn best through play, and aim to give each child the opportunity to

• Experiment with new and different things
• Interact and co-operate with other children
• Develop his/her creativity and imagination
• Develop his/her language and communication skills
• Interact with new adults

We are proud of our history – established in 1965 we are one of the longest running Pre-Schools in the country. We recently made the decision to change our name from Wheatley Playgroup to Wheatley Pre-School –mainly to keep up with the recent changes in Pre-School care, but also to better reflect the type of establishment we are and the activities we offer pre school age children.
